Senior National Account Manager - Tesco (Own Label) | 12-Month FTC

Allexo is partnering with a major food business to recruit a Senior National Account Manager to take ownership of Tesco on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a high-profile opportunity to lead one of the business's most strategically important retail relationships, with full P&L ownership, responsibility for the JBP and significant exposure across the senior commercial team.

For an experienced Grocery SNAM, it offers the chance to step into a sizeable, complex account and make a genuine commercial impact from day one.

The Role

You'll take end-to-end ownership of the Tesco relationship, responsible for delivering sustainable sales growth, profitability and long-term customer development.

You'll set the customer strategy, lead the JBP and identify opportunities to unlock further growth, while bringing together Category, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations and Innovation to deliver against the plan.

This isn't simply about maintaining an established account. You'll be expected to challenge, influence and find new ways to grow it.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Take full commercial ownership of the Tesco account
  • Own the P&L, delivering against sales, margin and profitability targets
  • Develop and deliver the Joint Business Plan
  • Build and execute the long-term Tesco customer strategy
  • Lead senior customer negotiations and commercial conversations
  • Identify and unlock new growth opportunities through data, insight and strong customer relationships
  • Develop promotional strategies that maximise performance and ROI
  • Drive opportunities across developing routes to market, including online and convenience
  • Own forecasting, budgets, risks and opportunities
  • Partner with Category and Customer Marketing to develop compelling, insight-led customer plans
  • Work with Product & Innovation teams to shape NPD and deliver best-in-class launches
  • Build strong relationships across Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and Operations
  • Coach and support colleagues across the wider commercial function

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Previous Tesco experience would be highly advantageous, although we're equally interested in candidates with strong experience managing other major grocery customers.

Why Consider a 12-Month FTC?

Because the opportunity itself is substantial.

You'll be taking ownership of Tesco for a major food business, rather than stepping into a project or caretaker position. You'll have genuine commercial responsibility, senior exposure and the opportunity to add a significant customer to your track record.

The wider business offers considerable scale across branded and own-label food, with established relationships across the major UK retailers and opportunities for longer-term career development across its commercial functions.
