About the Role
As ADVANZ PHARMA continues to strengthen its position as a leading specialty, hospital, and generics pharmaceutical company, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior National Account Manager - UK Retail Generics.
This is a highly visible commercial role within our UK Retail Generics business, managing several of our largest wholesale and short-line partners across a portfolio of more than 150 products. Reporting to the Associate Director, Generics, the successful candidate will act as a senior member of the commercial team, supporting the continued growth of our generics portfolio through strategic account management, commercial insight, and strong customer relationships.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced National Account Manager or Key Account Manager looking to take the next step in their career, with clear progression opportunities into broader commercial leadership roles within ADVANZ PHARMA.
What You'll Do
- Manage and develop relationships with 5-6 key national wholesale and short-line accounts.
- Deliver sales, margin and market share objectives across the UK retail generics portfolio.
- Develop and execute Joint Business Plans with strategic customers.
- Negotiate trading agreements and promotional initiatives.
- Optimise portfolio performance across a portfolio of 150+ products.
- Identify commercial opportunities arising from market shortages, competitor supply issues and changing market dynamics.
- Work closely with Supply Chain, Demand, Customer Care, Marketing and Commercial Finance colleagues to maximise service levels and business performance.
- Support pricing discussions and provide market intelligence to internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to successful new product launches and portfolio expansion initiatives.
- Represent the retail generics commercial channel business in cross-functional meetings and projects.
- Build long-term strategic relationships with senior customer stakeholders.

About You
We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are passionate about making a meaningful difference to patients' lives.
For this role, you will also have the following:
Qualifications
- Degree qualified or equivalent commercial experience.
- ABPI qualification is desirable
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Proven pharmaceutical commercial experience within account management, customer development or commercial sales.
- Experience managing national accounts within pharmaceutical manufacturers, generics, OTC, or branded medicines.
- Experience working with Alliance Healthcare, AAH, Phoenix, Bestway and/or Short-Line accounts.
- Strong commercial negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Understanding of UK pharmaceutical market dynamics.
- Experience developing Joint Business Plans and delivering against commercial objectives.
- Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders across internal and external organisations.
- Experience operating independently and managing a national customer base.
- Existing industry relationships and contacts are highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of UK generics, Drug Tariff or Category M is beneficial but not essential.
