About the Role
The Senior Neighbourhood Development Officer will support the Neighbourhood Partnerships Operations Manager in developing and leading the Neighbourhood Partnerships Team, driving a place-based approach to community engagement and development across Nottingham. The role will strengthen collaboration between communities, the Council, and key stakeholders, empowering residents to identify local priorities, influence decision-making, and play an active role in shaping their neighbourhoods. By connecting communities with services, partners, and resources, the postholder will support the delivery of sustainable, locally led solutions that improve outcomes and enhance quality of life for people living in the City of Nottingham.
A key aspect of this role will be the direct supervision and management of a team of seven Neighbourhood Development Officers (NDOs). You will provide leadership, coaching and professional support to the team, ensuring a consistent, high-quality approach to neighbourhood engagement, community cohesion and partnership working.

About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Evidence of successfully leading teams, with experience of motivating people and creating high performing services whilst also empowering others to take decisions
- Experience of finding sustainable solutions to complex and sensitive issues through community engagement and problem solving and by working in partnership.
- Ability to performance manage multiple projects with conflicting timescales, ensuring compliance with all financial regulations.
- Understanding of empowerment techniques and the methodologies used for effective consultations
