Senior Neo4j Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Neo4j Engineer to lead the technical execution of our graph database initiatives. In this role, you will bridge the gap between high-level solution architecture and hands-on implementation, directing a small engineering team to build scalable, high-performance graph solutions that power downstream applications, including advanced chatbots.

Inside IR35 - £900 P/D

Key Responsibilities

  • Architecture & Leadership: Translate instructions from the Solution Architect into actionable technical approaches and tasks, mentoring and directing a small engineering team to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Schema & Data Modeling: Design and build robust Neo4j graph database schemas, balancing query performance with semantic accuracy. Collaborate with the Knowledge Graph Architect to implement schema changes as code.
  • ETL & Pipeline Management: Define, develop, and maintain automated ETL/ELT pipelines and APIs to ingest, transform, and sync data from source systems into the graph, while documenting data lineage.
  • Query Optimization & Performance: Write, tune, and optimize complex Cypher queries, manage indexing, and support the overall scaling and performance tuning of the Neo4j instance.
  • Data Quality & Governance: Design sub-graph views, implement graph quality metrics, and leverage APOC and Neosemantics to handle duplicates, orphans, and similarity scoring.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
