Senior Software Developer (.NET/C#)
Newport, South Wales (1 day a week onsite)
£47,766 - £58,850 + Technical Allowances of up to £8,695 + Pension (28.97% employer contribution)
Join a major digital transformation programme and help modernise critical government systems used across the UK.
We're looking for a hands-on Senior Software Developer to play a key role in maintaining, enhancing, and modernising enterprise-scale applications. Working within Agile delivery teams, you'll contribute to the design, development, testing, and support of business-critical services while helping shape engineering standards and best practices.
What you'll be doing
- Developing and maintaining enterprise-grade applications using.NET/C#
- Designing and building REST APIs and web services
- Working within Agile teams using modern DevOps practices
- Contributing to CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, and GitHub
- Supporting the modernisation of legacy systems and applications
- Collaborating with stakeholders, product teams, and technical specialists
- Providing technical mentorship and helping drive development standards across the team

What we're looking for
- Strong commercial experience with.NET / C#
- Experience delivering software solutions within Agile environments
- Knowledge of REST APIs, web services, Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, and GitHub
- Understanding of modern software engineering and DevOps principles
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement
- Ability to influence technical decisions and mentor colleagues
Desirable
- Java experience
- AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals certification

Important Requirements
- Must be able to attend the Newport, South Wales office a minimum of 20% of the time
- Must have existing Right to Work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available for this role)
- Must have 5 years' continuous UK residency to support eligibility for SC Clearance
