About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior.Net Developer with expertise in C# and VB.Net to join our established team in North London. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a growing financial software house that develops in-house financial management systems for leading brands in retail and media sectors. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems, APIs, and database solutions that underpin our core products. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of RESTful API development, database optimization, and cloud integration, particularly with Azure DevOps pipelines. The role is fully office-based, providing an excellent environment for collaboration and professional growth.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on .NET technologies and API design. Proficiency in C# and VB.Net is essential, along with extensive experience working with SQL Server, including query optimization, stored procedures, and indexing strategies. Familiarity with RESTful API development, error handling, logging, and monitoring is required. Experience with version control systems such as Git, agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines is highly desirable. Additional qualifications include a good understanding of Windows Forms, API security best practices, and cloud services, particularly Azure. Knowledge of SAP Business One or similar accounting systems and API integration with SAP backend tables will be considered advantageous.

Responsibilities
- API Development: Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs in VB.Net and C#, ensuring seamless integration with SQL Server and SAP Business One backend tables.
- Database Management: Develop optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies to handle large datasets efficiently, ensuring data integrity and performance.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement enhancements to improve API responsiveness, database query execution, and overall application scalability.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for APIs, database schemas, and backend infrastructure to facilitate ongoing maintenance and future development.
- Collaboration: Work closely with SAP consultants, frontend developers, and DevOps engineers to ensure seamless system integration and deployment.
- Code Quality: Conduct thorough code reviews, debugging, and error handling to uphold high standards of system reliability and security.
- Best Practices: Stay updated with industry standards for API design, database performance tuning, and cloud infrastructure management to incorporate best practices into development processes.
