Senior .NET Developer | Electronic Trading
Hybrid (London)
£600 to £800 per day (Inside IR35)
Initial 12-Month Contract
We're partnering with a leading global financial services organisation on a major greenfield transformation programme to modernise and enhance electronic trading capabilities within Fixed Income markets. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior.NET Developer to join a highly visible, long-term initiative focused on building a next-generation cloud-based electronic trading platform. You'll work closely with trading desks, business stakeholders, and technology teams across multiple locations to deliver innovative, high-performance solutions that directly support global trading operations.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Developer, you'll play a key role in designing and delivering a modern electronic trading platform built on cloud-native technologies. Working within a small, agile team, you'll help shape the architecture, development standards, and technical direction of a business-critical platform.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of high-quality software solutions across the full development life cycle
- Contribute to technical design and architecture decisions
- Ensure best practices around code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, and software engineering standards
- Collaborate closely with traders, business stakeholders, and technology teams
- Design and develop scalable APIs and microservices
- Support the evolution of a cloud-based trading platform
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience with.NET/.NET Core
- Excellent understanding of Object-Oriented Design and SOLID principles
- Experience developing ASP.NET Core Web APIs and RESTful services
- Strong knowledge of multi-threading and asynchronous programming
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Hands-on experience with Docker and containerisation
- Proven experience building microservices and service-oriented architectures
- Strong automated testing experience using tools such as NUnit, Moq, Cucumber
- Experience with messaging technologies including RabbitMQ, TIBCO, SignalR or similar
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git, TeamCity or equivalent
- Experience working within Agile development environments

Desirable Experience
- Fixed Income or Electronic Trading experience
- Exposure to financial markets and trading systems
- AWS Cloud experience
- Understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks
- CI/CD pipeline configuration and optimisation
