About The Role
The Senior.Net Developer role at MCS Group offers an exciting opportunity to work within a global technology firm renowned for its innovative approach to financial markets. Based in Belfast with a hybrid working model, this full-time permanent position involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing mission-critical trading systems that have a direct impact on market access worldwide. As a key member of the development team, you will be responsible for building scalable, cloud-native solutions that leverage the latest technologies such as C# (.NET Core), React, and AWS. This role requires a proactive mindset, strong technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Solution Architects and QA Engineers. Mentoring junior developers, leading code reviews, and contributing to architectural discussions are integral parts of this position. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, testable, and robust software solutions that support the company's strategic objectives and technological advancements.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in software engineering with a proven track record of developing complex applications. Essential qualifications include proficiency in C# (.NET Core), modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, and experience working with relational databases like Microsoft SQL Server. Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, is highly advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a collaborative approach, with experience working within Agile teams and a strong commitment to best engineering practices. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with relevant industry certifications that validate technical expertise. Responsibilities
- Developing, enhancing, and maintaining complex trading systems using C# (.NET Core), React, and SQL
- Building scalable, cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS to ensure high availability and performance
- Collaborating closely with Solution Architects and QA Engineers to deliver robust, testable, and high-quality software solutions
- Leading code reviews and mentoring junior team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence
- Actively participating in architectural discussions and contributing to the development of CI/CD pipelines
- Implementing best practices for software development
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues promptly
- Maintaining documentation and ensuring adherence to security and compliance standards
- Staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions that enhance system capabilities and operational efficiency
