About The Role
The Senior.Net Developer role at MCS Group offers an exciting opportunity to work within a global technology firm renowned for its innovative approach to financial markets. Based in Belfast with a hybrid working model, this full-time permanent position involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing mission-critical trading systems that have a direct impact on market access worldwide. As a key member of the development team, you will be responsible for building scalable, cloud-native solutions that leverage the latest technologies such as C# (.NET Core), React, and AWS. This role requires a proactive mindset, strong technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Solution Architects and QA Engineers. Mentoring junior developers, leading code reviews, and contributing to architectural discussions are integral parts of this position. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in software engineering with a proven track record of developing complex applications. Essential qualifications include proficiency in C# (.NET Core), modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, and experience working with relational databases like Microsoft SQL Server. Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, is highly advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a collaborative approach, with experience working within Agile teams and a strong commitment to best engineering practices. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with relevant industry certifications that validate technical expertise. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to evolving technologies are critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Developing, enhancing, and maintaining complex trading systems using C# (.NET Core), React, and SQL
- Building scalable, cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS to ensure high availability and performance
- Collaborating closely with Solution Architects and QA Engineers to deliver robust, testable, and high-quality software solutions
- Leading code reviews and mentoring junior team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence
- Actively participating in architectural discussions and contributing to the development of CI/CD pipelines
- Implementing best practices for software development
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues promptly
- Maintaining documentation and ensuring adherence to security and compliance standards
- Staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions that enhance system capabilities and operational efficiency
