Senior Software Engineer (.NET / React / AWS) - Outside IR35

About the Role
Our niche engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their Digital Delivery Service, delivering software solutions across complex cloud-based applications within their Energy clients Commercial and Trading technology landscape.
As Senior.NET Engineer you will work as part of a collaborative engineering service, taking ownership of features and integrations from design through to deployment, while contributing to the continuous improvement of our engineering capability.
Senior.NET Software Engineer - Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain modern software applications using .NET (C#)
- Build and support REST APIs, backend services and system integrations.
- Develop Front-End features in React
- Develop cloud-native solutions using AWS and associated technologies.
- Work across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements through to deployment and production support.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Project Managers, QA Engineers and Solution Architects to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.
- Contribute to technical design, code reviews and engineering best practices.
- Produce clear technical documentation and support knowledge sharing across the team.
- Support application improvements, defect resolution and technical debt reduction.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience developing applications using C# /.NET.
- Experience building modern front-end applications using React.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and integration services.
- Experience working with AWS cloud services.
- Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server).
- Understanding of modern software engineering practices including Git, CI/CD and automated testing.
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Serverless development (AWS Lambda).
- Event-driven architecture and messaging.
- Experience within Energy Trading, Utilities or Financial Services.
- Experience working within a managed service environment.
