Senior Software Engineer (.NET / React / AWS) - Outside IR35

Outside IR35

Initial contract until the end of 2026
Remote based

About the Role

Our niche engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their Digital Delivery Service, delivering software solutions across complex cloud-based applications within their Energy clients Commercial and Trading technology landscape.

As Senior.NET Engineer you will work as part of a collaborative engineering service, taking ownership of features and integrations from design through to deployment, while contributing to the continuous improvement of our engineering capability.

Senior.NET Software Engineer - Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain modern software applications using .NET (C#)
  • Build and support REST APIs, backend services and system integrations.
  • Develop Front-End features in React
  • Develop cloud-native solutions using AWS and associated technologies.
  • Work across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements through to deployment and production support.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Project Managers, QA Engineers and Solution Architects to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to technical design, code reviews and engineering best practices.
  • Produce clear technical documentation and support knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Support application improvements, defect resolution and technical debt reduction.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience developing applications using C# /.NET.
  • Experience building modern front-end applications using React.
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs and integration services.
  • Experience working with AWS cloud services.
  • Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server).
  • Understanding of modern software engineering practices including Git, CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
