Company Description
ShareAction is an independent charity and an expert on responsible investment. We work to build a world where the financial system serves our planet and its people. We set ambitious standards for how financial institutions, through their investment decisions, can protect our planet and its people and campaign for this approach to become the norm. We convene shareholders to collectively push companies to tackle climate crisis, protect nature and shape healthier societies. In the UK and EU, we advocate for financial regulation that has society’s best interests at its core.
Position
What You’ll Do
Are you passionate about helping asset owners align their investments with their mission? As part of our Responsible Investment Standards Programme, you’ll provide vital support to the secretariat of our two asset owner networks: the Charities Responsible Investment Network (CRIN) and the Responsible Investment Network – Universities (RINU).
These are vibrant, UK-based communities of finance and investment leads from charities and universities who want their investments to reflect their mission. You’ll help deliver an ambitious annual programme of events, research and advocacy, making sure our members have what they need to be active, collaborative, responsible investors. Recent highlights have included workshops on climate and AI, engagement and divestment, and biodiversity, as well as supporting members to hold their asset managers to account.
Your role will span two areas: designing and delivering workplan activities that engage our members, and keeping the secretariat running smoothly, including a leading role in monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL). A normal week could include:
Network delivery and member engagement
- Helping develop and shape CRIN and RINU’s annual work plans
- Organising and delivering online and in person events, including quarterly member meetings, workshops and webinars
- Designing and delivering other workplan projects, including research, working closely with our researchers
- Working alongside the Senior Engagement Manager to identify and engage prospective new members, and to onboard and engage current ones
- Keeping on top of the latest responsible investment developments relevant to the charity and university sectors
- Maintaining the networks’ communications platform, including adding members and resources and sharing updates
- Drafting our regular members’ newsletter and other communications, such as blogs and op-eds
- Working with our communications team on materials and the CRIN/RINU pages on our website
- Attending relevant industry events to promote our networks and prospect for new members
Operations and project management
- Implementing and maintaining a monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) strategy for the networks
- Tracking progress against our workplan to keep activities on schedule
- Leading on data collection and impact reporting, including drafting our end-of-year impact report
- Keeping records up to date in Cascade, our project management system, and Salesforce
- Monitoring invoice payments from network members and following up as needed
- Helping organise secretariat meetings and planning sessions
- Identifying and helping implement new systems and processes to improve how the secretariat runs
- Supporting with other administrative tasks, such as note-taking

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Our hiring process is anonymised, we won’t ask for a cover letter and we don’t look at CVs until the interview stage. We do this so that we reduce the opportunity for unconscious biases to affect our decision making and so we prioritise skills and expertise over how well you can write a CV.

Please talk to us at the interview about the flexibility you need. We can’t promise to give you exactly what you want, but we do promise not to judge you for asking.
While we embrace hybrid working at ShareAction, we also think there is a lot of value
