Senior Network Engineer – Basildon

Key Points

  • £60,000 – £65,000 DOE
  • Basildon, Essex – hybrid working, typically around 3 days office / 2 days WFH depending on projects
  • Technologies: Fortinet, Cisco Nexus, Cisco ASR, BGP, SD-WAN, Meraki
  • Role Description: Senior, hands-on position across customer projects and an internal ISP / datacentre environment

About the Client

We’re working with an established Managed Service Provider experiencing continued growth across its network customer base, including large-scale and critical infrastructure environments.

Due to increased project workload, they’re looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join an established networking team, working across complex customer environments alongside their own ISP and datacentre infrastructure.

The Senior Network Engineer Role

This is a genuinely hands-on senior networking role, rather than a position dominated by BAU support tickets.

You’ll take ownership of network installation and migration projects from design through to delivery, alongside contributing to internal datacentre and ISP projects, product R&D and complex technical escalations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
