Opticore IT - Senior Network Engineer Opportunity
Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.
Opticore IT are currently searching for a Senior Network Engineer with strong hands-on design experience with Cisco ACI, including multi-fabric environments.
This role will involve working with a large telecommunications client of ours who are redesigning their ACI setup. The engagement focuses on stabilising, leading, and scaling the Cisco ACI estate across three UK-based data centre fabrics, with planned expansion to five or six fabrics in future phases. The core objective is to take ownership of ACI design and delivery, improve current execution performance, and establish a structured, scalable approach to deployment and governance.

This will be an initial 6-month contract inside IR35 with 2 days per week based in London.
What you'll be doing:
- Deployments are done using an automation tool sending the configuration into ACI.
- All 3 fabrics are UK-based, moving to 5 or 6 in the future.
- You will be creating the LLDs from the already created HLD being followed.
- Layer 3 network - connecting to RAN gateways, also MPLS Networks.
- Deliver and drive things forward & become the ACI guru for them. If this goes well, there is a lot more work and future work required and planned.

- Hands-on design experience with Cisco ACI, including multi-fabric environments.
- Strong knowledge of Layer 3 networking, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and enterprise connectivity principles.
- Experience integrating ACI with RAN gateways and MPLS networks.
- Experience working across multiple data centre fabrics and planning for scale/expansion.
