Network Engineer - Cisco

Contract | 12 months initial

Location: Bradford

Rate: Up to £400 per day outside IR35

Clearance: SC Clearance

I'm currently recruiting for a Network Engineer to join a specialist team supporting a large-scale public sector network environment.

You'll work across complex Cisco infrastructure, supporting WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN and data centre connectivity, while contributing to wider technology projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Cisco ACI, Nexus and Catalyst switching environments
  • Manage Cisco and Check Point firewalls, VPNs and network security
  • Support WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, WLCs, APNs and data centre connectivity
  • Work with Azure/O365 connectivity, Load Balancers and IPAM
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues
  • Contribute to local, regional and national network projects

Required Experience:

  • Strong Network Engineering experience, ideally with Cisco CCNP or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, NAT/PAT and IPSec
  • Experience with Cisco/Check Point firewalls and network security
  • Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, VoIP/SIP and PKI
  • Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills

Desirable:

  • CCNP certification or equivalent
  • Experience within public sector, government, defence or other secure environments
  • Experience with Cisco ACI and cloud connectivity
