Senior Network Engineer
Belfast | £55,000–£70,000 + 10% Bonus + Car Allowance | Hybrid
An established technology business is looking to add an experienced Senior Network Engineer to its Belfast team.
This is a varied, hands-on position working with enterprise customers across both project delivery and ongoing network support. You'll take responsibility for technically challenging work, from implementing new infrastructure and network changes through to diagnosing complex faults and supporting the wider engineering team.
The environment is predominantly Cisco, so we're looking for someone with a strong background in enterprise networking who is comfortable getting into the detail when required.
What you'll be doing
- Delivering network projects and infrastructure changes for enterprise customers
- Supporting and troubleshooting complex network environments
- Working extensively with Cisco routing and switching technologies
- Diagnosing faults and taking ownership of more challenging technical escalations
- Configuring, implementing and upgrading network infrastructure
- Contributing technical expertise to new projects and proposed solutions
- Working across LAN, WAN, wireless and wider network environments
- Liaising directly with customers throughout technical work and projects
- Supporting less experienced engineers with technical issues
- Working alongside internal teams and technology vendors
- Maintaining accurate technical documentation

About you
You'll already have substantial experience working with enterprise networks and be comfortable operating at Senior Network Engineer level.
We're particularly interested in:
- Strong Cisco networking skills
- Excellent routing and switching knowledge
- Enterprise LAN and WAN experience
- Strong network troubleshooting skills
- Experience implementing and supporting business-critical network infrastructure
- Confidence dealing directly with customers and technical stakeholders
- CCNP/CCIE level knowledge, whether through certification or equivalent practical experience

Experience across technologies such as Cisco ACI, SDA, ISE, Catalyst Center/DNA Center, Nexus and enterprise wireless would be useful, but we're not expecting candidates to have worked with everything on the list.
Knowledge of Fortinet technologies, particularly FortiGate, would also be beneficial.
We're ultimately looking for a strong all-round Senior Network Engineer rather than someone who matches a rigid technology checklist.
