About the Role
Job Title: Senior Network Engineer
Location: London, UK (Hybrid - Central London Office / 2 Days Remote)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + Bonus + Benefits
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to design, maintain, and optimize our core enterprise routing, switching, and WAN infrastructure. In this hands-on role, you will act as a senior technical lead responsible for ensuring high availability across our office locations, data centres, and cloud connectivity points. You will take ownership of 3rd/4th line technical escalations, drive network lifecycle projects, and introduce automation to streamline routine operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Core Network Operations: Design, configure, and manage enterprise routing and switching environments across BGP, OSPF, EVPN/VXLAN, and MPLS infrastructure.
- Perimeter & Security Management: Maintain Next-Gen Firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, or Cisco ASA/Firepower) and configure secure VPN topologies.
- Hybrid Cloud Connectivity: Manage and optimize cloud networking gateways (AWS DirectConnect, Azure ExpressRoute, Transit Gateways).
- Network Automation: Implement Python scripts, Ansible playbooks, or Terraform code to automate routine network deployments and updates.
- Escalations & Incident Resolution: Lead 3rd/4th line troubleshooting for complex network outages, conducting root-cause analysis (RCA) and performance optimization.
- Documentation & Standards: Maintain low-level network design (LLD) documentation, architecture topology diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience operating as a Network Engineer in enterprise or managed service provider environments.
Core Technical Skills:
- Routing & Switching: Expert-level understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, Spine-Leaf architectures, and VLAN/VXLAN design.
- Hardware Experience: Hands-on experience with Cisco, Arista, Fortinet, or Juniper platforms.
- Firewalls & VPNs: Experience deploying and troubleshooting Next-Generation Firewalls and site-to-site/remote access VPNs.
- Network Automation: Practical knowledge of Ansible, Terraform, or Python for network orchestration.
Certifications: CCNP Enterprise / Routing & Switching (required), PCNSE, or NSE 4/7 (preferred).
Work Authorization: Full right to work in the UK.
