Senior Network Engineer

As our Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for TGR Haas F1 Team's global networking estate, ensuring its availability, performance, security, and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Operations Manager, you will act as the network design authority and senior escalation point for networking, supporting critical race operations and business systems while driving the modernisation of the network towards software-defined and automated networking. The role also requires flexibility to support wider infrastructure and platform technologies as needed.

What You’ll Be Doing

Network Ownership & Delivery

  • Own and manage the global network estate across on-prem, cloud, and trackside
  • Ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance network services
  • Lead design, implementation, and lifecycle management of LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and connectivity solutions
  • Embed secure-by-design and zero-trust principles

Technical Leadership & Support

  • Act as design authority and senior escalation point for networking
  • Provide 3rd line support, lead incident resolution and root cause analysis
  • Define and maintain engineering standards, monitoring, and documentation
  • Drive adoption of automation and infrastructure-as-code

Project Delivery & Improvement

  • Deliver network projects end-to-end, managing scope, risks, and timelines
  • Identify opportunities for optimisation, innovation, and efficiency
  • Support continuous improvement across infrastructure services

Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Work closely with Infrastructure, Cloud, Apps, and Security teams
  • Act as a subject matter expert across the organisation
  • Mentor junior engineers and support team development
  • Manage vendors and partners for performance and support

What You’ll Bring

Essential

  • Degree in IT or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years IT experience, including 3+ years in networking
  • Strong experience with enterprise networking (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, wireless)
  • Expertise in network security, firewalls, VPN, and zero-trust concepts
  • Solid knowledge of core protocols (BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)

Desirable

  • Cloud networking (e.g. Azure, hybrid environments)
  • Automation (Ansible, Terraform, Python)
  • DevOps / platform engineering exposure
  • Experience in high-performance or mission-critical environments
