Senior Network Engineer
Glasgow, UK - Hybrid
£75,000 - 95,000 - Depending on experience & qualifications
We are proud to be supporting a fast-growing technology company at the forefront of satellite and cloud infrastructure in their search for a Senior Network Engineer. Due to the sensitive nature of this engagement, the client's name will be shared with candidates at the shortlisting stage.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is building a next-generation network connecting satellites, ground stations, and cloud infrastructure. Operating across dynamic, intermittent links, their platform is designed to deliver data reliably into cloud-based workloads, a technically complex challenge requiring deep networking expertise.
This role sits at the heart of their edge infrastructure, the servers and network devices deployed on-site at antenna locations to receive, demodulate, and transport satellite data to the cloud. It is a hands-on, high-ownership position spanning routing, overlay networking, edge systems, and cloud connectivity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Network Design & Architecture
- Design L3 network topology across satellite, ground, and cloud environments
- Define IP addressing schemes, segmentation, and routing domains
- Model connectivity patterns and failure scenarios
Routing & Connectivity
- Implement and operate dynamic routing protocols
- Design route advertisement, filtering, and failover strategies
- Handle intermittent and flapping connectivity gracefully

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
