Clearance: Must hold Active SC Clearance

Inside IR35 Rate: £505.00 pd


We're looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a critical infrastructure programme, providing operational and project support across a complex enterprise network environment.

This role will focus on maintaining and enhancing network services, ensuring security compliance, supporting change initiatives, and resolving complex network issues across LAN, WAN, wireless, and security technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support for enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Manage and maintain Cisco-based networking environments, including routing, switching, and SDA technologies.
  • Administer and support Cisco ACI and Cisco ISE platforms.
  • Configure and support wireless networks using Cisco and Meraki solutions.
  • Implement and maintain firewall and security policies across Cisco ASA and Palo Alto environments.
  • Support VPN technologies and secure network connectivity.
  • Perform network troubleshooting, incident resolution, and root cause analysis.
  • Deliver infrastructure maintenance, patching, compliance activities, and network upgrades.
  • Support load balancing technologies including F5, Citrix, and NetScaler.
  • Execute network change activities and implement new business requirements.
  • Produce technical documentation, reports, and stakeholder communications.
  • Contribute to service improvement and optimisation initiatives.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience supporting enterprise LAN and WAN environments.
  • Hands-on expertise with Cisco ISE, Cisco routing and switching, and Cisco ACI.
  • Experience managing and troubleshooting firewall technologies, including Cisco ASA and Palo Alto.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and policy implementation.
  • Experience supporting wireless technologies, including Cisco and Meraki.
  • Knowledge of VPN technologies and secure remote connectivity.
  • Proven experience in incident, problem, and change management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills within complex network environments.
  • CCNP certification (minimum requirement).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Must hold British nationality only.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Software Defined Access (SDA).
  • Exposure to load balancing technologies such as F5, Citrix ADC, or NetScaler.
  • Experience working in highly regulated or security-conscious environments.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks and network security testing.
