Senior Network & Hosting Engineering Lead
Inside IR35 - Up to £850 per day
Hybrid in Central London
12-Month Initial Contract - October Start is possible
A leading financial services organisation is looking for a Senior Network & Hosting Engineering Lead to design and lead secure, resilient hosting and connectivity platforms across enterprise, cloud, internet-facing and market-data environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architecture across on-premise data centres, colocation, hybrid and multicloud environments.
- Design secure connectivity across AWS, Azure, GCP and Oracle Cloud, including Direct Connect, ExpressRoute and equivalent services.
- Architect internet-facing environments covering DMZ, ingress/egress, load balancing, DNS, CDN and secure access.
- Design and optimise low-latency market data platforms, including multicast/unicast, exchange connectivity and cross-connects.
- Support payment and regulated transactional platforms, focusing on resilience, segmentation, encryption and compliance.
- Lead network and hosting transformation, cloud adoption, data-centre modernisation and platform migrations.
- Provide technical leadership during high-severity incidents and drive performance, capacity and automation improvements.
- Work with cloud providers, telcos, SaaS providers, exchanges and market-data vendors.

Essential Experience
- 8–12+ years in network engineering, hosting architecture or senior/lead roles.
- Strong networking and advanced BGP, OSPF, multicast and high-availability experience.
- Proven multicloud experience across AWS, Azure, GCP and/or Oracle Cloud.
- Experience with market data, payment systems or regulated financial environments.
- Strong understanding of low-latency networking and resilient architecture.
- Automation experience using Python, Ansible and/or Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Strong stakeholder management and architectural governance skills.

- Microsoft 365 and infrastructure SaaS connectivity.
- Zero Trust, segmentation and secure internet architecture.
- Experience with Bloomberg, Reuters or exchange connectivity.
- Experience leading major network/hosting transformation programmes.
