Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer – Freelance
We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to join an international project on a 12-month freelance contract.
Location: Glasgow, UK – hybrid, 2–3 days onsite per week
Start: End of September 2026
Contract: Freelance – Outside IR35
Working pattern: Full-time
Duration: 12 months
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure and support enterprise network infrastructure
- Manage and troubleshoot complex LAN/WAN environments
- Work with Cisco networking technologies
- Configure and support routing and switching
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues
- Work with TCP/IP, BGP and OSPF
- Support highly available and business-critical network environments
- Contribute to network infrastructure design and continuous improvement

✅ Requirements
- Strong commercial experience as a Network Infrastructure Engineer
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco
- Excellent knowledge of LAN/WAN, routing and switching
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP and OSPF
- Experience troubleshooting complex enterprise networks
- Experience working with high-availability environments
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work onsite in Glasgow 2–3 days per week

⭐ Nice to Have
- Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet or Check Point firewalls
- Background in energy, utilities, telecommunications or critical infrastructure
- Experience supporting large-scale or business-critical environments
