Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer – Freelance

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to join an international project on a 12-month freelance contract.

Location: Glasgow, UK – hybrid, 2–3 days onsite per week
Start: End of September 2026
Contract: Freelance – Outside IR35
Working pattern: Full-time
Duration: 12 months

🔧 Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure and support enterprise network infrastructure
  • Manage and troubleshoot complex LAN/WAN environments
  • Work with Cisco networking technologies
  • Configure and support routing and switching
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues
  • Work with TCP/IP, BGP and OSPF
  • Support highly available and business-critical network environments
  • Contribute to network infrastructure design and continuous improvement

✅ Requirements

  • Strong commercial experience as a Network Infrastructure Engineer
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco
  • Excellent knowledge of LAN/WAN, routing and switching
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP and OSPF
  • Experience troubleshooting complex enterprise networks
  • Experience working with high-availability environments
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work onsite in Glasgow 2–3 days per week
