Role: Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Southampton (Hybrid Role)
Salary: £80,000 - £100,000

Carrier-Grade Networking | High-Level Infrastructure Ownership | Progression Toward CTO

We're recruiting for a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer to join a highly technical telecoms and communications environment where network performance, resilience, and uptime are absolutely critical to the wider business. This is an opportunity to step into a senior position within a company that runs its own infrastructure estate, supports business-critical voice and communications services, and places genuine value on strong engineering ownership.

This role is ideal for an experienced network professional who wants more than just BAU support. You'll play a key role in maintaining and evolving a complex multi-site network environment, supporting core infrastructure that underpins real-world production services. From routing, switching, peering, and BGP through to resilience planning, incident response, and infrastructure improvement projects, you'll be heavily involved in both the day-to-day operation and long-term development of the network estate.

You'll work closely with senior leadership and technical teams, acting as a key escalation point while helping to drive standards, performance, and operational stability across the environment. The role offers the chance to work across carrier-grade networking, high-availability telecoms platforms, on-prem infrastructure, and network architecture, making it a strong move for someone looking to continue progressing into a broader infrastructure leadership or future CTO-level pathway.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
