Job Title: Senior Network Operations Engineer (Level 3)

Location: London

Corporate Title: Assistant Vice President


Deutsche Bank is seeking an experienced Senior Network Operations Engineer to join Global Network Services in London.

As a Level 3 engineer, you will act as a technical escalation point for some of the bank's most critical network services and infrastructure platforms. You will partner with engineering teams, technology vendors, and global operations organisations to drive stability, resiliency, automation, and operational excellence across a highly complex global environment.

This role is ideal for a networking professional who enjoys solving technically challenging problems while influencing standards, mentoring engineers, and shaping the future direction of network operations.

You will operate as a network SME and escalation resource across routing, switching, security, load balancing, identity, Domain Name System, and Software-Defined Networking platforms.

Your key responsibilities

  • Serve as an SME across multiple networking technologies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability and resilience.
  • Partner with engineering teams to operationalize new technologies.
  • Act as a senior technical escalation point for global network incidents.
  • Lead investigation and resolution of complex infrastructure issues.
  • Participate in Incident, Problem, and Change Management governance.

Your skills and experience

  • Enterprise networking experience.
  • Advanced troubleshooting experience across large-scale IP networks.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience operating within highly regulated or mission-critical environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead technical investigations and service restoration efforts.
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
