Senior Network Support Engineer — Fortinet technical lead on a skilled, established team
£55,000 | Hybrid | Wednesday office only
Our client has a skilled team of six network support engineers and they're looking for a technical lead to sit at the top of the escalation chain. This is a 3rd and 4th line role with a genuinely proactive bent — you're not just resolving tickets, you're identifying patterns, driving BAU improvement projects, and stopping problems before they happen.
The stack is 95% Fortinet — FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSD-WAN, and FortiSASE. If you've spent your career going deep on Fortinet and you want a support-focused role with real technical authority and minimal commute (just Wednesdays in the office), this is worth a serious look.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Own 3rd and 4th line escalations across the Fortinet estate — the senior technical authority on the team
- Drive proactive support — identify recurring issues, run BAU improvement projects, and reduce ticket volume before it happens
- Manage and support FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSD-WAN, and FortiSASE environments
- Support SD-WAN deployments and ongoing management across the customer base
- VPN configuration, management, and troubleshooting across the estate
- Use LogicMonitor or PRTG for network monitoring and performance visibility
- Support the project team when required — dip into project delivery alongside BAU
- Contribute to a staggered shift pattern — 7am–5:30pm across a team of six

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
