Senior New Product Introduction Engineer

About the Opportunity

KO2's client is recruiting for a Senior New Product Introduction Engineer in Newmarket. You'll be the critical bridge between design engineering and manufacturing operations, working on novel automotive robot systems breaking boundaries in the safety arena. You'll work alongside one of the most experienced mechanical engineers on the market who will be an invaluable mentor.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Coordinate the successful introduction of new and modified products into manufacture
  • Design for manufacturing analysis, tolerance studies, prototype development, and feedback to design
  • Work directly on the shop floor supporting manufacturing and assembly teams
  • Understand production constraints and facilitate solutions
  • Manage comprehensive documentation, DFMEAs, PFMEAs, and service bulletins with absolute traceability and configuration control
  • Oversee the pilot production phase before full market release
  • Handle customer quality issues and field engineering feedback

What We're Looking For

  • Genuine engineering background with proven experience in new product introduction, manufacturing engineering, or design engineering with substantial manufacturing exposure
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes: lathes, mills, cutting, welding, assembly, and jig design
  • Solid CAD skills
  • Exceptional communicator capable of engaging confidently with both design teams and shop floor personnel
  • Methodical, detail-oriented, and pragmatic problem-solver
  • Knowledge of military standards beneficial, with capability to upskill rapidly

The Details

  • Location: Newmarket
  • Salary: £65,000 to £70,000 per annum
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Holiday: 22 days annual leave plus 8 public holidays plus 1 birthday day
  • Working Arrangement: 100% onsite
