Role Description
The Senior Night Carer is a full-time, on-site role based in Swanland, responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality care during night hours. The role includes:
- Providing personal care and support to residents
- Monitoring their wellbeing
- Responding promptly to any needs or emergencies
- Ensuring a calm, safe environment throughout the night

The Senior Night Carer will:

- Supervise night staff
- Allocate tasks
- Ensure care plans are followed and recorded accurately
- Administer or assist with medication in line with policies
- Complete night-time checks
- Maintain clear communication with daytime teams
- Support residents with dignity, respect, and compassion
Qualifications
- Experience in residential or domiciliary care, including night shifts, with a strong understanding of person-centred care principles.
- Skills in supervising care teams, delegating tasks, and providing guidance and support to colleagues.
- Competence in record-keeping, reporting concerns, and following care plans and safeguarding procedures.
- Medication administration training or willingness to undertake relevant training, with attention to detail and safety.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, manage emergencies appropriately, and maintain a safe environment at night.
- Relevant care qualification (e.g., NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care) or equivalent experience; willingness to pursue further training.
- Basic IT and documentation skills for updating care records and reading care plans.
- Right to work in the UK and ability to meet any necessary background checks and reference requirements.
