About the Role

The Senior NPD Manager is responsible for leading the development of innovative, high-performing, and beautifully executed makeup products across new product development and reformulation projects.

Reporting into the Head of NPD, this role will focus on driving the end-to-end process of key assigned NPD and reformulations from concept through to launch. They will be expected to manage an array of complex projects simultaneously with expert stakeholder collaboration and influencing skills, ensuring delivery against timelines, budget, quality, and performance expectations.

The role works closely with cross-functional teams including Product Marketing, Packaging, Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, and Procurement, as well as Charlotte Tilbury's in-house Pro Makeup Artist Pool, to bring consumer-relevant, artistry-led innovations to market. The Senior NPD Manager will drive development excellence, proactively manage risks, and lead complex, high-profile projects from ideation to launch. This role will also be key in supporting junior team members, championing best practices, and driving continuous improvement across NPD processes and ways of working.

  • Manage the end-to-end NPD and reformulation development process for key assigned projects within the over-arching Make Up category.
  • Drive innovative product concepts, through supplier innovation sourcing, consumer & artistry insights, market trends and competitive analysis.
  • Partner closely with Product Marketing to develop compelling product propositions, claims, and innovation stories.
  • Own and manage critical path timelines, ensuring strong cross-functional alignment and proactive risk management.
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to agreed quality and performance standards.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with contract manufacturers, leading development discussions, troubleshooting challenges, and driving innovation.
  • Partner with Procurement to achieve target cost of goods and support supplier selection and negotiations.
  • Work closely with the Pro Makeup Artist Pool to incorporate artistry insights into product concepts, formula development, shade creation, and performance evaluation.
  • Facilitate efficient feedback and approval processes with artists, balancing creative ambition with technical feasibility and commercial requirements.
  • Assess and direct necessary formula & shade tweaks with team and suppliers during development process. Setting standards as required.
  • Collaborate with Packaging, Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure successful project execution and launch readiness.
  • Prepare innovation & project presentations, including highly visual development updates, and NPD recommendations for senior leadership and founder reviews.
  • As required, help to coach and develop junior team members while supporting continuous improvement across team processes and ways of working.
  • Overseas travel as required for supplier visits, formula and shade approvals, and trend research.

About You

  • Significant experience in beauty product development, with strong expertise in colour cosmetics.
  • Proven track record of leading NPD and reformulation projects from concept through to launch.
  • Strong understanding of formula development, product performance, and manufacturing processes.
  • Keen eye for colour and able to assess and direct expert formula and shade tweaks with team and suppliers.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and navigating complex development challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with professional makeup artists and translate artistry feedback into successful product development.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Strong leadership capability with experience coaching and developing team members.
  • Highly collaborative with a team player mentality and approach.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance innovation, cost, quality, and speed to market.
  • Excellent visual presentation, communication, and storytelling skills.
  • Analytical mindset with experience leveraging consumer, market, and sales insights.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive, proactive, and solutions-focused approach.
  • Passion for beauty and product innovation.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills; experience with Monday.com is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
