Due to the retirement of the current postholder, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Specialist Occupational Health Practitioner to join the Occupational Health & Wellbeing Service at Harrogate & District Foundation Trust.

The Trust provides services to all staff based on the Harrogate hospital site, as well as to a wide range of community services across an expanding Trust footprint.

We are looking for an experienced Specialist Practitioner in Occupational Health; with excellent communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills, who is flexible and can work 4 days a week, both on site, and remotely as service need requires.

You will be able to deliver evidence-based occupational health services to all Trust employees and contracted services, whilst providing clinical leadership, professional support, and education across the Occupational Health Service, whilst ensuring compliance with responsibilities associated with Health & Safety legislation and maximising and promoting the health of all employees. The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and build effective working relationships, whilst demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and high standards of care is essential.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
