Band 7 Senior Occupational Health Advisor
We have a great opportunity for a Band 7 senior Occupational Health Advisor to join us at the Employee Wellbeing Service at Barts Health. You will be working with an established, friendly team that offers an innovative model to preventative health for all Barts staff.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team of occupational health specialists.
Key Responsibilities
- Work flexibly remotely and occasionally onsite
- Undertake clinics (consulting with staff on their new roles and ensuring that they have the correct immunisations requirements)
- Providing immunisations
- Phlebotomy
- Monitoring of blood borne virus’
- Complete Health surveillance. Training or updates can be provided
- Be a case manager for management referrals, including complex dependent on experience. Current model if for no more than 6 management referrals per day
- Take part in peer audit with regular access to teaching from experienced OHAs
- Have access to clinical supervision and a multi-disciplinary team
- Provide line management responsibilities to a small group of occupational health staff

To provide Occupational Health Advisors services including the full remit of occupational health needs. The role will predominately be focused on case management of management referrals, with an emphasis on providing quality, evidence-based reports to allow managers to provide support to staff with reasonable adjustments. The post holder will ensure a proactive comprehensive service is provided and delivered to the highest standard and support the delivery to Barts Health NHS Trust and associated external contracts.
The post holder is also required to work with other senior occupational health advisors, to implement and monitor policies, standards and guidelines within the Barts Health NHS Trust service. To provide line management responsibilities to a small group of occupational health staff. The Specialist Practitioners are required to act as a professional leader to the team and to encourage and maintain a supportive and learning environment, where there is a focus on lifelong learning and reflective practice. The senior occupational health advisor will have line management responsibilities for the occupational health advisors. They will also deal with the complex management referrals.
