Role Outline

This exciting role involves providing clear professional advice to managers and employees of one of our major clients, as well as managing and providing professional leadership to the onsite clinical team. The post-holder will support the Clinical Operations Manager in leading and advancing clinical practice in accordance with Health Partners protocols, best practice, and relevant legislation. Additionally, the role encompasses delivering a full Occupational Health remit in line with the client contract, which includes providing consultations, advice, education, medical assessments, and conducting drug and alcohol testing where appropriate.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Conduct independent medical assessments, either by telephone or face to face and providing a quality report back to the referring manager.
  • Carrying out health surveillance and fitness for work assessments in line with Health Partners policies and procedures and issue appropriate fitness certificates.
  • Maintain appropriate records and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
  • Provide day to day management, support, and clinical supervision to the onsite clinical team.
  • Create and maintain a positive and supportive team culture with the onsite clinical team, supporting and demonstrating the company values.
  • Support induction of new staff, clinical competency reviews, staff training and development and end of year appraisals for the onsite clinical team.
  • Undertake clinical triage of new referrals and action appropriately.
  • Attend client meetings and deliver relevant client training sessions as required.
  • Monitor health surveillance escalations and provide advice and support to the onsite clinical team as required.
  • Work closely with administrative teams to ensure appropriate skill mix and allocation of work for the onsite clinical team.
  • Ensure all clinical rooms are maintained to the required standard and keep a log of equipment calibrations.
  • Help develop and co-ordinate any wellbeing initiatives as required by the client.
  • Take responsibility for own professional development by maintaining existing skills and developing new ones relevant to the role and area of professional practice.
  • Maintain valid and up to date registration with the NMC and comply with NMC guidelines in relation to professional issues and clinical supervision.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a highly skilled and qualified nurse who is registered with the NMC (Part 1) and holds a postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health or is working towards this. The ideal candidate will have an up-to-date knowledge of professional and specialist issues, along with proven experience carrying out the full occupational health remit, including case management and health surveillance. A clear understanding of professional accountability within the scope of practice is essential, as is evidence of managerial experience. The role requires excellent organisation and motivational skills, the ability to accept and deliver constructive feedback, and a self-motivated, proactive approach to work. We seek someone who is innovative, adaptable, and demonstrates strong leadership and management capabilities. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively both independently and within a team, be IT literate, and be able to work well under pressure. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, are a must, alongside the ability to prioritise workload, manage time effectively, and work flexibly to meet strict deadlines. An approachable and helpful manner and the ability to use initiative are key attributes for this role. A strong health and safety knowledge would be an advantage.

Hours

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm

Location

This is an onsite role based in Warton, Preston.
