About The Role

What does the average day look like?

On an average day, you will provide occupational health and wellbeing expertise to support key projects, policies, and standards across Network Rail. Whilst working with colleagues and suppliers to improve areas such as fitness for work, mental health, health surveillance, and occupational health risks, while providing technical advice, analysing performance data, and identifying opportunities to enhance employee health and wellbeing outcomes based on evidence.

A little bit about the team...

We are a highly experienced Occupational Health, Hygiene and Wellbeing team dedicated to delivering Network Rail's Occupational Health, Hygiene and Wellbeing Strategy. Through specialist technical expertise, governance and assurance, supplier management, and data-led service development, we support safe, healthy and high-performing workplaces across the organisation. We foster an inclusive, supportive and collaborative culture where expertise is valued, innovation is encouraged, and colleagues are empowered to make a real impact.

Your experience and skills

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced occupational health and wellbeing professional who has a proven track record of working in a senior role within a large, multi-disciplinary organisation.

The ideal candidate will be a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a recognised Occupational Health and Wellbeing qualification, able to provide expert guidance, influence stakeholders at all levels, and communicate effectively across the business. While demonstrating strong technical expertise, a proactive approach to improvement, and the ability to deliver against key accountabilities while driving positive health and wellbeing outcomes.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience/expertise in occupational health, safety and wellbeing working for a large multi-discipline organisation in a senior position.
  • A Registered General Nurse (RGN), with a relevant Occupational Health and Wellbeing qualification (e.g., Diploma, degree or Masters) or equivalent post graduate qualifications.
