The International Rescue Committee (IRC)

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises, helping to restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing, and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein, the IRC is one of the world's largest international humanitarian non-governmental organizations (INGO), at work in more than 40 countries and 29 U.S. cities helping people to survive, reclaim control of their future and strengthen their communities. A force for humanity, IRC employees deliver lasting impact by restoring safety, dignity and hope to millions. If you're a solutions-driven, passionate change-maker, come join us in positively impacting the lives of millions of people world-wide for a better future.

Job Background/Overview:

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a driven partnerships professional with a wealth of knowledge and excitement for the health sector, who will develop and deepen partnerships with corporate partners in support of our mission to help refugees survive, recover and gain control of their future.

Since its inception in 1933, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster. This temporary role is part of the Global Corporate Partnerships (GCP) team, which leads on the IRC's engagement with corporations and corporate foundations across key global sectors such as financial services, healthcare, consumer goods and technology.

The ideal candidate is someone experienced and familiar with the Global Health sector, the major players, and the key partnerships and funding opportunities. Candidates with knowledge of the financial services sector, or broader experience working across corporate industries, are also encouraged to apply. As a Senior Officer with a dedicated portfolio of corporate partners — primarily in Global Health, with a smaller portfolio of financial services accounts — you will cultivate, steward, and solicit corporate donors and will build tailored fundraising strategies and activations, focusing on incremental and sustained revenue generation, in-kind support, and humanitarian impact.

The Senior Officer will also demonstrate a passion for the IRC's mission, nuanced understanding of private sector fundraising, and dedication to the organization's diversity, equity, and inclusion values.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Steward and cultivate a $3M+ USD portfolio of partners and new business prospects in support of the Global Corporate Partnerships Health strategy with a focus on diversified funding streams, growing flexible funds, and expanding influence.
  • Help to deliver a robust strategy for the Global Health sector; identifying and initiating strategies for sector partnerships through a variety of partnership models (e.g. Strategic, employee engagement, pro bono expertise, etc.).
  • Support the Associate Director of Health Partnerships in proactively building and managing a robust new business pipeline, researching and identifying prospective corporate partners in the Global Health sector (and financial services, where relevant) to drive incremental revenue growth.
  • Design and implement creative stewardship, engagement and growth strategies for partners within the portfolio including account plans, proposal submissions and partnership discussions.
  • Develop and review materials for partners or prospects, including proposed partnership overviews and activation ideas, concept notes, proposals, presentations, and reports.
  • Work closely with the External Relations teams (e.g., digital, creative studio, experiential events) to leverage health-related virtual and in-person events and campaigns to support the overall fundraising efforts of the organization.
  • Establish a robust client servicing plan for each portfolio partner, including identifying key performance indicators, ongoing planning and reporting procedures to optimize quality of service, income growth, and donor satisfaction.
  • Facilitate information flows between prospects and donors, program staff and fellow GCP officers;
  • Undertake special assignments, as needed.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
