Job Opportunity: Operational Due Diligence Specialist

We have recently been instructed by a leading London-based hedge fund looking to hire an experienced Operational Due Diligence Specialist to join its investment team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive operational due diligence on third-party investment managers and funds across a broad range of strategies, including hedge funds, private markets, and long-only investments.

This is an opportunity to join an established investment platform and play a key role in assessing the operational robustness, governance, and risk frameworks of external managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed operational due diligence on prospective and existing third-party investment managers and funds.
  • Assess managers across hedge funds, private markets, and long-only strategies.
  • Evaluate operational infrastructure, governance, controls, risk management, compliance, valuation, technology, and service-provider arrangements.
  • Lead due diligence meetings and engage directly with external managers and their operational teams.
  • Identify and assess operational risks, weaknesses, and potential areas of concern.
  • Prepare detailed written due diligence reports and present findings to relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with investment, risk, legal, compliance, and other teams throughout the manager selection and monitoring process.
  • Undertake ongoing monitoring of existing managers and assess material operational changes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
