WE’RE HIRING: SENIOR OPERATIONS MANAGER
Coventry | Full-time | Senior leadership role
Beechwood Trees and Landscapes Ltd is looking for an experienced Senior Operations Manager to work closely with our Managing Director and senior leadership team.
You will lead through our operational and compliance managers, setting clear expectations, reviewing performance and ensuring that the business consistently delivers safe, efficient, profitable and high-quality arboricultural operations.
Established in 1998, Beechwood is a growing, family-managed arboricultural and landscape contractor operating across the Midlands and wider UK.
The opportunity
You will take senior responsibility for the performance of our operational delivery, ensuring our managers have the direction, resources and accountability needed to succeed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and developing operational and compliance managers
- Holding managers accountable for planning, productivity and delivery
- Reviewing operational performance, KPIs, revenue and profitability
- Ensuring resources, vehicles, plant and teams are effectively utilised
- Maintaining oversight of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance
- Identifying operational risks and resolving issues before they affect delivery
- Improving systems, communication and accountability across the business
- Supporting client relationships and the delivery of key contracts
- Reporting directly to the Managing Director and senior leadership team
- Contributing to the strategic growth and development of the business

We are looking for a confident senior leader who can see the bigger picture while maintaining strong control of the detail.
You will know how to manage managers, challenge underperformance, develop people and create a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
You should have:
- Senior operations management experience within arboriculture, landscaping, grounds maintenance, construction or a related sector
- Proven experience managing managers and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong commercial awareness, including budgets, productivity and profitability
- Experience using KPIs and operational reporting to drive improvement
- A solid understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance
- Excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills
- The confidence to challenge, support and develop experienced managers
- A full UK driving licence

Experience working with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems would be advantageous.
