Senior Operations Manager
The Senior Operations Manager will provide senior operational leadership and management support to the General Manager and Deputy General Manager in the delivery of safe, effective and high-performing General Medicine services.
The post holder will have particular responsibility for GIM medical rota oversight, RTT and PTL validation, patient pathway performance and operational assurance.
The role will work closely with GIM clinical leads, medical staff, rota teams, waiting list and outpatient teams, People & Culture, Medical Education, Information and Finance to ensure effective workforce planning, accurate performance information and timely patient access. The post holder will provide constructive challenge and assurance, identifying risks and coordinating appropriate action to prevent avoidable delays, workforce pressures and RTT breaches.
As Senior Operations Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the operational delivery of General Medicine, with particular responsibility for GIM medical rota oversight, RTT/PTL validation and performance management.
You Will
- Provide operational oversight of GIM medical rotas, identifying and managing workforce gaps, risks and staffing pressures.
- Work closely with GIM clinical leads and rota teams to ensure safe and effective medical staffing, including weekend and out-of-hours cover.
- Lead the validation of PTLs and RTT pathways, ensuring patient information is accurate, current and appropriately evidenced.
- Identify and challenge pathway discrepancies and proactively manage patients at risk of RTT breach or avoidable delay.
- Analyse performance information and provide assurance on RTT, patient access, workforce and other key operational measures.
- Work collaboratively with clinical, administrative and corporate teams to resolve issues and deliver improvements.
- Support governance, risk management, service improvement and the effective use of workforce and financial resources.
- Provide leadership and support to delegated administrative and rota teams, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
