About The Role
As the Senior OT Infrastructure & Cyber Security Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, build, configuration and deployment of secure infrastructure supporting complex OT and industrial environments.
This is a hands-on engineering role combining infrastructure, systems and cyber security expertise. You will work across Windows and Linux environments, physical and virtual infrastructure and industrial technology, supporting systems from build and integration through testing, commissioning and deployment.
Working closely with clients, vendors, design authorities and wider OT, network and cyber security teams, you will help resolve technical challenges, support vendor integration and ensure solutions are delivered securely and in line with agreed designs and standards.
The role will involve international travel and periods working on client sites as part of project deployments, alongside hybrid working from Scotland when not on assignment.
As a Senior OT Infrastructure & Cyber Security Engineer, you will:
- Build, configure and support physical and virtual server infrastructure within OT environments
- Design, build and configure VMware environments
- Install, configure and support Windows and Linux-based systems
- Support PC, server and associated infrastructure hardware used within industrial environments
- Implement system and device hardening in line with recognised security standards and project requirements
- Support the hosting, integration and deployment of OT and industrial applications
- Undertake infrastructure testing, validation and troubleshooting prior to deployment
- Support FAT, SAT, commissioning and production deployment activities
- Configure and support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and associated infrastructure services
- Support resilient infrastructure, storage, backup and recovery solutions for critical OT systems
- Troubleshoot vendor and network integration issues during project delivery
- Produce high-quality technical documentation including HLDs, LLDs, configuration documents, test plans, procedures and commissioning documentation
- Act as a technical point of contact during deployments, working directly with clients, vendors and engineering teams
- Work with design authorities to resolve technical issues within agreed design standards and constraints

Requirements
You'll bring strong hands-on infrastructure engineering experience, with the technical capability to deliver secure and resilient solutions within complex OT and industrial environments.
- Strong experience building, configuring and supporting Windows Server environments
- Experience with Windows 10/11 and enterprise endpoint infrastructure
- Working knowledge of Linux operating systems, ideally including RHEL
- Strong hands-on experience with VMware and physical and virtual server deployment
- Experience hardening Windows and Linux systems in line with security standards and good practice
- Strong understanding of infrastructure services including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP
- Experience with enterprise server hardware, storage, backup and disaster recovery technologies
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing and switching
- Experience supporting application hosting, system integration, testing and commissioning activities
- Experience producing accurate technical designs, diagrams, build documentation and test procedures
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Confidence working directly with clients, vendors and technical stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively within structured, fast-paced project delivery environments
- Experience within OT / ICS, industrial, energy or Critical National Infrastructure environments
- Understanding of OT cyber security principles, system hardening and recognised industry standards
- Flexibility to travel internationally, including periods working on client site in Dubai as part of project deployments
