I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The role will initially focus on providing independent owner-side oversight of our existing MR tanker fleet, including upcoming dry-dockings, asset integrity, technical assessments, cost control, and coordination with the existing technical team, class, shipyards, and contractors.

The position will then progressively expand into the assessment, acquisition, long-term chartering, and execution of newbuild tanker projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the Owner in evaluating opportunities, challenging technical and commercial assumptions, reviewing specifications, and leading negotiations and project execution.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Strong senior-level experience in tanker technical management, fleet projects, or newbuilding supervision
  • Proven experience in dry-docking, repairs, steel renewal, and cost control
  • The ability to independently assess vessels, technical proposals, shipyards, and project risks
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, coordination, and leadership capabilities
  • Sound commercial judgement and the confidence to challenge managers, partners, class, and shipyards when required
  • High professional integrity, independence, and a clear owner-focused mindset
  • Willingness to travel regularly to shipyards and project locations in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia
