Senior Packaging Technologist – Drive Innovation in Pharmaceutical Packaging

About The Role

This is a key leadership position within our technical packaging department, reporting directly to the Technical Packaging Manager. You will spearhead cross-functional initiatives including new product launches, packaging innovation, change management, and risk mitigation. Your expertise will support compliance with GMP standards, industry regulations, and continuous improvement endeavors, all while collaborating with diverse teams across production, quality, supply chain, and external partners. Make a tangible impact by driving projects that enhance product safety, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Packaging Technologist or in a similar role within manufacturing or pharmaceutical settings
  • In-depth knowledge of packaging materials, components, and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage packaging projects, including changes and validations
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and team leadership abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects efficiently

Nice to Have Skills

  • Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Packaging Technology qualifications (e.g., PIABC Level 5 Diploma in Packaging Technology)
  • Project management certifications or experience
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and audit processes

Preferred Education And Experience

  • A minimum of a relevant qualification in Packaging Technology or related discipline
  • Several years of practical experience working in pharmaceutical or manufacturing environments, with a focus on packaging processes and projects

Other Requirements

  • Strong commitment to GMP, GDP, and quality standards
  • Ability to support and lead change controls, deviation investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Flexibility to support internal and external audits as needed
