Exciting Opportunity for an Audiologist at Kettering General Hospital
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Audiologist to join the Audiology Department at Kettering General Hospital. While the department provides services for both adults and children, this role has a primary focus on paediatric audiology, supporting children and families across University Hospitals of Northamptonshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Paediatric Audiologist or an Adult Audiologist looking to develop specialist skills within paediatric services. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, patient-centred audiological care, undertaking assessments, hearing aid fitting and verification for children while working closely with families and the wider multidisciplinary team. Support will be provided through structured training and professional development, enabling the successful candidate to enhance their clinical expertise and progress within a supportive and forward-thinking service.
You will contribute to the continued development of audiology services, ensuring children and their families receive safe, effective and compassionate care throughout their hearing healthcare journey.

- Conduct age-appropriate audiological assessments for children aged 6 months to 18 years using a range of behavioural and objective testing techniques.
- Lead Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA) clinics, accurately interpreting results and making informed clinical decisions.
- Undertake paediatric hearing aid fitting, verification and validation to ensure optimal hearing outcomes for children.
- Assess hearing needs and recommend appropriate management plans in line with local and national guidance.
- Communicate assessment outcomes, treatment plans and recommendations to parents, carers and families with empathy, clarity and sensitivity.
- Provide support and advice to patients, families and other healthcare professionals regarding hearing loss and hearing management.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, child-centred care.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records and documentation in line with professional and Trust standards.
- Contribute to the delivery of high-quality paediatric audiology services and support service development initiatives.
- Participate in continuing professional development activities and maintain clinical competencies.
- Provide support to adult audiology services as required, including hearing assessments, hearing aid fittings, repairs and ENT clinics.
- Contribute to quality improvement, audit and service evaluation activities within the department.
