Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust is a Top Employer Award Winner and works in partnership to provide responsive and dependable primary care, mental health, intellectual disability, and substance misuse services to the diverse and culturally rich communities we serve.

In our quest to deliver patient-focused quality care, we are looking to recruit a highly motivated, innovative, and enthusiastic Senior Paramedic/Registered General Nurse-RGN Band 6 to join our forward-thinking, friendly, and expanding Health & Justice team at HMP Feltham B.

By joining our Prisons Health Care Team, you will not only look after the healthcare needs of our patients residing in secure environments but also have a real impact on promoting health and well-being.

Our motto is “Caring NOT Judging,” so by working in partnership with the criminal justice system and other agencies, we provide responsive, dependable, and high-quality primary care and mental health services to those who may have offended and those at risk of offending in the communities we serve, to improve their health status and to encourage social inclusion.

We offer a great range of career pathways to support our nurses through their journey. See the list of endless opportunities under the working for your organisation tab.

Main duties of the job

  • To work within the scope of the New Model of Care and undertake Early Days In Custody (EDic) assessments. To ensure all new arrivals receive a brief assessment of individual presentation and need, referring patients on to other services (GP, SMS, chaplaincy, psychology, etc.) and book further assessment if indicated.
  • To participate in Care and Separation (Segregation) Unit (CSRU) rounds with a GP and primary care nurse.
  • To provide professional leadership and to facilitate a culture which engenders high standards and reflective learning.
  • To lead and manage a team of allocated staff and respond to emergency on-site: code blue or code red.
  • To undertake line management responsibility for a team of staff ensuring appropriate deployment and supervision of staff.
  • To provide skilled general care and advice to patients within the prison.
  • To work as part of a multidisciplinary team assessing the health needs of patients; to provide and evaluate care given and implement changes as required.
  • To be able to work autonomously, as well as part of the wider team delivering health care to the standard equitable to that found within the wider community.
  • To provide holistic care in a unique environment based on NMOC that encourages patient engagement to an often socially excluded group.

The postholder is expected to deliver trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care.

Working for our organisation

Along with the fully established benefits such as Monthly supervision; Annual personal development plans/appraisals; Support and guidance with Revalidation; Hidden Gem and annual award ceremonies. We are also able to offer access to a full range of internal and external training opportunities across our services.

Our Health and Justice healthcare services present unique and diverse learning, development, and leadership opportunities for nurses, where you will have the potential to make a significant difference to the lives of adults, children, and young people who often experience a wide range of health inequalities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
