Senior Paraplanner
Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum
About Us
We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Technical Paraplanner to join a respected financial planning team based in Staverton.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong paraplanner to take on a senior role within an established accountancy, business advisory, and financial planning environment. The position will involve supporting financial planners with complex client cases, detailed report writing, and high-quality technical planning work for a varied client base, including high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
The role would suit someone who enjoys the technical side of financial planning, has strong attention to detail, and is looking for clear progression within a professional and supportive team.
Responsibilities
- Produce comprehensive financial planning reports across a broad range of advice areas
- Draft technical documents, suitability reports, and client presentations
- Clearly explain complex financial planning issues in client-facing documentation
- Work closely with financial planners to support advice delivery for new and existing clients
- Undertake technical research across pensions, investments, protection, and estate planning
- Support advice relating to pre-retirement and post-retirement planning
- Assist with cash flow modelling and long-term financial planning scenarios
- Liaise directly with clients, including high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals
- Collaborate with administrators and the wider financial planning team to deliver an efficient client service
- Ensure all reports and documents are accurate, compliant, and delivered to a high standard
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial planning legislation, products, and best practice
- Support the continued improvement of internal processes and technical standards

Requirements
- At least 5 years’ experience within financial services
- Strong background in paraplanning or a technical financial planning role
- Full Diploma in Financial Planning is essential
- Progression towards Advanced Diploma, Chartered status, or equivalent would be advantageous
- Recent experience supporting advice across personal protection, pensions, investments, and core financial planning areas
- Strong knowledge of pre-retirement and post-retirement planning
- Experience working with high-net-worth clients would be beneficial
- Experience using financial planning tools such as Voyant, CashCalc, Analytics, Microdecisions, or similar systems
- Excellent written communication skills and report writing ability
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- Confident liaising with advisers, clients, and internal teams
- Proactive, organised, and able to use initiative effectively
