About the Role
As we continue to expand our commercial portfolio, we are seeking a highly strategic and commercially minded Senior Partnerships Strategy Director to lead the development of sponsorship strategies and commercial models for all new properties coming into the Commercial Partnerships team.
Responsibilities
Sponsorship Strategy & Commercial Architecture
- Lead Sponsorship Strategy for all new Sela properties, ensuring alignment with agency objectives and market demand.
- Identify and define commercial rights across events, digital platforms, content, community programmes, and emerging assets.
- Develop sponsorship models including tiering, benefit matrices, category frameworks, and rights bundles.
- Value all assets: work with our trusted valuation agencies to value all assets, using audience data, media equivalency, engagement metrics, and benchmarking.
- Draft compelling sponsorship packages with clear deliverables, KPIs, and pricing logic.
Go to Market Strategy & Sales Enablement
- Build go-to-market strategies for new properties, including positioning, target sectors, and commercial narratives.
- Develop premium sales materials such as pitch decks, one-pagers, case studies, and sales toolkits.
- Sales Operations: Partner with marketing, strategy, and production teams to ensure commercial propositions are aligned with audience insights and creative direction.
- Support the Head of Commercial Partnerships in ensuring the team has the tools, frameworks, and materials needed to drive revenue.

Revenue Growth & Pipeline Leadership
- Support ownership of the sponsorship pipeline, with a focus on new property commercialisation and CRM updates.
- Support senior-level sales conversations, presenting complex propositions to C-suite stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Head of Commercial Partnerships to close out major negotiations, renewals, and multiyear deal structuring.
- Identify new business opportunities and emerging commercial categories across sport and entertainment.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with brand decision-makers, rights holders, and strategic partners.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure sponsorship deliverables are feasible, valuable, and aligned with client objectives.
- Support the Head of Commercial Partnerships in representing the agency at industry events, conferences, and high-profile meetings.
Team Leadership Responsibilities

- From time to time, lead on weekly team meetings, client conversations, and internal planning sessions, when requested by the Head of Commercial Partnerships.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to the partnerships team, particularly in areas of commercial strategy, valuation, and proposal development.
- Help embed a culture of innovation, collaboration, and commercial excellence.
Campaign Delivery & Measurement
- Work with internal teams to ensure sponsorship activations deliver against KPIs and client expectations.
- Support the creation of reporting frameworks and post-event evaluations.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve future commercial strategies.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in sponsorship, partnerships, or commercial roles within sport, entertainment, or media.
- Proven experience developing sponsorship strategy, rights frameworks, and valuation models.
- Strong track record of securing high-value partnerships and leading complex negotiations.
- Exceptional communication, pitch, and storytelling skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in data-driven valuation and ROI modelling.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience mentoring or leading teams is strongly preferred.
