JGA Recruitment Group is working with an established professional services business to appoint a Senior Payroll Administrator to join its growing payroll team.
This is a client-facing payroll role, managing your own portfolio of clients and taking ownership of payroll delivery from start to finish. Alongside processing, you’ll provide payroll advice, support new client onboarding and build trusted relationships with your clients.
The Role
- Manage end-to-end payrolls for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Process starters, leavers, statutory payments and variable pay.
- Complete RTI submissions and ensure payroll compliance.
- Manage auto-enrolment and pension processes across a range of schemes.
- Act as the main point of contact for client payroll queries and provide clear, practical advice.
- Attend client meetings and build strong, long-term relationships.
- Support the onboarding of new clients, including gathering and transitioning payroll data.
- Advise on areas including salary sacrifice, National Insurance, Benefits in Kind and wider payroll legislation.
- Manage multiple payroll deadlines and competing priorities effectively.

About You
- Ideally have 5+ years’ payroll experience, with a background in practice payroll and experience managing your own portfolio of clients.
- Confident managing client relationships and handling complex payroll queries.
- Technically strong, with a good understanding of UK payroll legislation.
- Experienced with multi-client payroll environments and ideally BrightPay or similar software.
- Comfortable managing pensions and auto-enrolment.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines without compromising accuracy.
- Professional, approachable and confident communicating with clients.
