Senior Payroll Assistant Opportunity in Norwich
NXTGEN is delighted to be partnering with a highly regarded Accountancy firm in Norwich, known for its flexible and people-focused culture, as they look to appoint a Senior Payroll Assistant to join their excellent team. With the firm continuing to grow and do an exceptional job for its clients, they’re expanding their payroll function to keep up with demand, and this Senior Payroll Assistant will play a key role within the team. As a Senior Payroll Assistant, you'll take ownership of a varied client portfolio and play a key role in delivering a high-quality, end-to-end payroll service to a range of clients. You’ll also have the opportunity to support senior leaders, help develop junior members of the team, and get involved with more complex payroll duties. Key Responsibilities:
- Processing end-to-end payroll for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Handling complex payroll queries and providing advice on PAYE, pensions, and statutory deductions
- Building strong client relationships and delivering a high level of service
- Working closely with the wider team to improve processes and efficiencies

What the client is looking for:
- Experience in payroll processing within an accountancy practice or bureau environment
- Knowledge of payroll software such as Sage Payroll or Xero Payroll
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines effectively
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with clients and colleagues
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with a genuine interest in developing and progressing within the firm
This role can be part or full time depending on what you’re looking for.
