Your Career

In this role, you’ll develop your leadership and operational expertise within a fast-paced payroll environment. You’ll take responsibility for planning and allocating daily activities, monitoring schedules, and ensuring all payroll tasks are completed accurately and on time. You’ll build your capability in stakeholder management by proactively engaging with customers, supporting service improvements, and ensuring delivery aligns with agreed SLAs.

You’ll also strengthen your technical payroll knowledge keeping up to date with legislation, maintaining GDPR standards, and ensuring compliance across all activities. Alongside this, you’ll continue to grow your coaching and mentoring skills, supporting team performance while addressing behavioural or performance challenges where needed.

Your Team

You’ll be a key part of the Managed Payroll function, working closely with Payroll Analysts and the Payroll Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Acting as a senior point of support, you’ll guide Analysts through complex queries, provide coaching, and act as the first point of escalation owning issues through to resolution. You’ll also play an active role in onboarding new starters, supporting their induction and development, while maintaining strong relationships with customers to ensure a high-quality, consistent service.

Your Impact

Your role will be critical in ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and service excellence. By signing off payrolls, overseeing BACS transmissions, and maintaining rigorous attention to detail, you’ll ensure payroll is delivered right first time and in line with customer expectations.

You’ll drive team performance by coaching Analysts, managing escalations effectively, and ensuring issues are resolved quickly and appropriately. Through proactive customer engagement and continuous improvement, you’ll help enhance service delivery and strengthen client relationships.

Ultimately, your work will ensure payroll services are reliable, compliant, and delivered to the highest standards supporting both customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
