This is an opportunity to join a leading UK media organisation on an initial 3-6 month contract, taking ownership of Payroll & Benefits across multiple UK entities.

Working closely with HR, Finance and senior stakeholders, you'll act as the senior payroll SME, ensuring compliant, accurate and efficient payroll delivery while overseeing benefits, provider management and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Role

  • Own the end-to-end Payroll & Benefits function
  • Lead payroll governance, compliance and controls
  • Review and approve payroll submissions and reconciliations
  • Manage complex payroll, pensions and benefits issues
  • Oversee payroll and benefits providers
  • Support audits, year-end processes and statutory reporting
  • Drive payroll transformation, automation and process improvement
  • Partner with HR, Finance and senior leadership teams

  • Extensive UK payroll experience with strong HMRC, PAYE and RTI knowledge
  • Experience leading payroll operations within a complex organisation
  • Strong payroll governance, compliance and audit experience
  • Benefits, pensions and salary sacrifice scheme knowledge
  • Experience managing outsourced payroll and benefits providers
  • Previous payroll transformation, implementation or migration experience
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Multi-entity payroll experience preferred
  • CIPP qualification desirable
