Job Title: Senior Payroll Manager

Sector: Division of a Plc

Location: Belfast Metropolitan

Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 plus Bonus, Pension & Health

Our client is a respected division of a large publicly listed group, with a well-established presence in Belfast. The business operates in a fast-paced industry and is known for its collaborative team culture and opportunities for progression.

Who should apply?

This role will suit candidates with:

  • 7+ years’ experience in end-to-end UK payroll
  • Experience managing or supervising a payroll team
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and process improvement

Role and Reporting Lines

Reporting to the Head of Finance and managing a payroll team of 4, this role sits within a wider finance team of approximately 20 people.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership – Lead and mentor a payroll team of 4
  • Payroll Processing – Oversee accurate and timely UK payroll for a large headcount
  • Compliance – Ensure full compliance with UK payroll regulations and reporting requirements
  • Process Improvement – Identify and implement improvements to enhance payroll efficiency
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Liaise with internal HR, Finance and external providers
  • Systems Oversight – Maintain and optimise payroll software and systems
  • Reporting – Deliver payroll reports and analysis to senior finance
  • Project Support – Assist the Head of Finance in payroll-related projects and audits
