Citadel Source is partnering on an exclusive basis to support our client based in North East Somerset area to recruit an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join their payroll team.
The role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to support the delivery of an accurate and efficient payroll service. Working closely with the Payroll Lead, you will oversee payroll operations, support payroll system improvements, and ensure payroll processes remain compliant and accurate throughout a period of change.
About you
You will have previous experience in a senior payroll role with a strong understanding of payroll legislation, pensions, and statutory payments. You will be confident using payroll systems and Microsoft Excel, with excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. You will be able to manage multiple priorities, work accurately to deadlines, and build effective working relationships with colleagues across HR and Finance.

As a Senior Payroll Officer, your role will include, but not be limited to:
- Support payroll operations and system improvements
- Validate and reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy
- Prepare monthly payroll for processing
- Process complex payroll calculations and pension submissions
- Administer statutory payments, including SSP, SMP, and SPP
- Produce payroll reports and resolve payroll queries
- Maintain payroll procedures and documentation
- Work with Finance to support payroll accounting
- Identify and implement payroll process improvements

What the client has to offer
- A salary level £35,000 to £42,000 per annum
- Parking on-site
- 26 days' annual leave plus bank holidays (but increasing with length of service)
