Referment is working with a fast-growing UK wealth technology company that is transforming the platform experience for advice firms and their clients. Its technology supports account opening, streamlined transfers, advisory portfolio management and a wide range of managed portfolios and in-house wrappers — and as the business grows, it is strengthening the operational expertise behind its pensions and ISA offering.

It is now looking for a personable Senior Pension Administrator to be the first line of response to financial adviser and client technical queries relating to ISAs and pensions. Working alongside the client services, investments and transfers teams as they complete their daily tasks, you will work closely with and report into the Pensions Director to ensure all pension tasks are completed daily and to a timetable of regulatory submissions.

The Role

You'll be the first line of support for the team on technical queries relating to pensions and ISAs, completing high-volume daily pension administration tasks and responding to emails promptly and professionally. You'll confidently handle technical questions from advisers by telephone, delivering quality responses and managing complex cases with authority.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Your experience with pension regulatory reporting will be central to the role. You'll know how to submit HMRC pension and ISA regular reporting, including tax relief claims and annual submissions, and you'll be comfortable translating HMRC, FCA and other regulator rules so the company's processes remain compliant.

The role also offers genuine scope to improve how things work: you'll be encouraged to improve processes and written documentation, and to work with the engineering team to automate and streamline pension administration through the platform.

What We're Looking For

  • Substantial previous experience working for a UK investment platform offering pensions, ISA and GIA accounts
  • Experience of complex pension administration, including drawdown, death cases and regulator taxation payments
  • Proven hands-on experience of pension regulatory reporting, including HMRC pension and ISA regular reporting, tax relief claims and annual submissions
  • The ability to translate HMRC, FCA and other regulatory rules into compliant processes
  • Strong team spirit and a collaborative working style within an operations team
  • Confident, high-quality telephone communication with financial advisers
