About The Role
Senior Pension Consultant
Permanent, Full Time
£36,364 to £42,781 per annum
Location: Chelmsford*
Working Style: Anywhere worker
Closing Date: 6th August 2026
This is a hybrid-working role contractually based in Chelmsford. The role allows for some home-working with a requirement to attend the office 2-3 days per week, in line with business need.
Who are we?
The Essex Pension Fund is one of 87 pension funds which make up the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). The LGPS is the largest defined benefit pension scheme in England and Wales with a fund value of over £340billion.
On its own, our Fund looks after 182,000 Scheme Members, over 800 Employers and is valued at over £13billion, placing us within the top 10 largest LGPS funds in the country.
Here are some of the things you would you be doing?
- Responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining best practice guidance across all areas of pensions.
- Examining and analysing calculations, controlling and authorisation of financial transactions on all aspects of service.
- Using your initiative to improve service delivery to employers and members.
- Responsible for managing and resolving complaints received.
- Provide information & guidance to our Scheme Members and Employers, Regulatory bodies, financial advisors and Solicitors on complex cases.
- Coach and Mentor less experienced members of your team.
