Senior Pensions Administrator
Darlington | Hybrid Working - 3 Days Office / 2 Days Home
£35,000-£40,000 DOE + Discretionary Annual Bonus
Ready to take the next step in your DB pensions career? ⭐ Office Angels are delighted to be supporting a highly regarded, award-winning pensions consultancy with the appointment of an experienced Senior Pensions Administrator to join their growing Darlington team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an established pensions professional with hands-on Defined Benefit (DB) administration experience who is ready to build on their technical knowledge, take greater ownership and support the development of others. What's on Offer?
- £35,000-£40,000 salary, depending on experience
- Discretionary annual bonus
- Hybrid working - 3 days in the Darlington office / 2 days from home
- Free on-site parking
- Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week, office hours
- 25 days' annual leave + bank holidays, with the option to purchase additional leave

The Role
As a Senior Pensions Administrator, you'll manage a varied workload across Defined Benefit pension schemes, including complex cases, member benefit calculations and stakeholder queries. You'll also support junior Pensions Administrators, sharing your technical knowledge and best practice to help develop the wider team.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a range of Defined Benefit pension administration activities
- Complete accurate calculations relating to member benefit entitlements
- Take ownership of more complex member cases and queries
- Prepare and collate pension documentation and information
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date member records
- Ensure administration is completed accurately and in line with scheme procedures and regulatory requirements
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to junior members of the Pensions Administration team
- Support with checking work and maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality across the team
- Manage workloads and competing priorities effectively to meet agreed deadlines
- Deliver an exceptional level of member and client service
- Contribute to process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver excellent client outcomes
About You
Previous hands-on Defined Benefit (DB) pensions administration experience is essential for this Senior Pensions Administrator opportunity.
You'll ideally bring:
- Strong previous experience within Pensions Administration
- Proven experience administering Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes
- Experience completing pension benefit calculations and handling more complex cases
- The confidence to provide guidance and technical support to junior colleagues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence communicating with members, trustees, clients and other stakeholders
- The ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to the wider team
- A genuine commitment to delivering excellent member and client service
